📖 HOW TO READ · MOMENTUM
Every stock scored on how WELL-FORMED its trend is, ranked by MQS (Momentum Quality Score, 0-100). This is the "quality of the trend" screen, not the "biggest mover today" screen.
📊 MQS - the ranking score
Blends moving-average stacking (20>50>100>200), trend consistency, how straight the trend is (R²), volume backing, trend age, low volatility and shallow drawdown into one 0-100 number.
BANDS 80+ exceptional · 65-79 strong · 50-64 moderate · 35-49 weak · under 35 no clear trend. The filter row opens at Min MQS 50.
GOODThe scale is harsher than it looks - on a normal day nothing scores 80+ and most of the market sits under 50. MQS 65 is genuinely strong.
WATCHHigh MQS means a CLEAN trend, not a big one. A 75-MQS stock can be near the end of its run - pair it with the Signals tab's Opportunity Score for timing.
📋 The table, by column group
PRICE MCap · Company · YTD Range (1yr low / now / high) · Day Range (today's low / last / high) · Price · Turnover
RETURN D% · W% · M% · Y% - day, week, month and year change, green up / red down
TREND MQS · Trend Stage · Trend Age · Dur (days above the 50-day average) · R² (how straight, 1.00 = a perfect line) · % of 52W High
RISK ATR% (typical daily move) · MaxDD (worst 60-day drawdown) · RSI · MACD H · Vol× (20d vs 60d volume) · Avg Vol · Inst Accum
CYCLE Phase (daily Wyckoff) · DaysIn (days in that phase) · Weekly (higher timeframe) - green Weekly means both agree, the strongest confirmation here
▸ Insights - the collapsible panel above the table
Eight "best of" tiles, three watchlists (Momentum Leaders / Emerging / Weakening) and sector rankings by average MQS.
IT FOLLOWS YOUR FILTERS. Narrow the table - Min Turnover, sector, phase - and every tile and list re-picks from that same set. The one exception is the "top decile" thresholds behind Momentum Leaders, which stay measured against the whole market so the bar does not move as you filter.
GOODSet Min Turnover to something you would actually trade before reading the tiles. They are max/min picks, so a wide-open filter lets a barely-traded stock win on a technicality.
WATCHA tile can read "- no candidate -" once you filter hard. That is honest, not broken: nothing in your selection met that tile's gate.
🔍 Working the screen
Click any row for the full detail modal. Click a column header to sort. Hover almost anything for a tooltip.
GOODMQS 65+ · Trend Stage "Confirmed Uptrend" · Phase Uptrend · green Weekly. That combination is the highest-conviction long this screen can express.
WATCHA high MQS with RSI above 75 and price hard against the 52-week high is a good stock at a poor moment. Wait for a pullback.
Quality is not upside. Everything here measures how orderly a trend has been, which is a statement about the past. It tells you what to consider, never when to buy.

ADMIN BUY - HOW TO READ THIS

What this tab is

A ranked shortlist for a buy-today / sell-tomorrow hold. It is not a recommendation and not a prediction. End-of-day data carries no reliable overnight edge - tested across 510 liquid ASX stocks and 120,088 three-day sequences, no simple daily price pattern produced an edge that survived transaction costs. The value is in what gets excluded, not in the ranking.

The ranking is provisional

The score was rebuilt from measurement on 2026-07-30 after the original version tested as inverted - ranking by it was worse than random. The replacement has a real edge on 16 days of data (+0.72% between top and bottom decile, ~+0.47% after costs), but that is 16 days of one market regime, and it is a mean-reversion signal: it will fail in a sustained downtrend. It also shows up as a broad decile tilt, not reliably in the top few names - the top 20 beat the market on only 7 of 16 days. Treat the ordering as a mild lean, not a shortlist of best ideas.

Why the list is short

Each gate removes trades that cannot work regardless of how good the setup looks. Typical run: 2,511 → ~645, of which ~300 are tradable at $20k.

Excluding ETFsyou are picking stocks; ETFs behave differently
Price ≥ $0.20below this the tick size alone costs ~0.5-1% each way
Traded that dayexcludes halts and suspensions
ATR% ≥ 2the daily range must beat brokerage + spread, or the trade cannot pay
RSI ≤ 78not already exhausted
Gap within ±8%avoids chasing a move that already happened
Liquidityposition ≤ 2% of average daily turnover - 77% of the ASX fails this at $20k

Columns that need explaining

Part%your position as a share of average daily dollar turnover. Above 2% you are a meaningful part of the day’s flow and cannot assume a clean exit.
ATR%average true range - how far the stock typically moves in a day, as a % of price. Volatility, not direction: the same number applies to the downside.
ATR $that range in dollars on your position. Not expected profit. ATR measures the day’s high-to-low range, while a typical close-to-close move is much smaller - QAN has ATR 2.1% but a median day of 0.75%. Read it as “is there enough movement to be worth transacting?”
ScoreTwo components, both measured rather than reasoned: low 5-day relative strength and bearish Wyckoff phase. The original eight-component version was tested over 5,101 observations and ranked worse than random (top decile −0.29%, bottom +0.28%, t=−3.33). Only those two had individual signal, and both pointed the other way, so they were flipped and the rest dropped - six components and 50 of 108 weight points were doing nothing. Inverted: top decile +0.31% vs bottom −0.41%, t=+4.56. This ranks short-term WEAKNESS, not strength - it is a mean-reversion screen. Hover a row for the breakdown. Liquidity is deliberately excluded - it decides whether a trade is takeable, not whether it will rise, which is why the position slider re-filters without re-ranking.
Confmodel confidence in the trend read. Green = High, which is rare.

Trade levels - derived, not forecast

Entrya quarter-ATR below last price: buy the day’s mid rather than chase the close
Stopthe lower of (support − ¼ ATR) and (entry − 1 ATR). Floored at a full ATR because support usually resolves to VWAP, which sits ~1% from price - a stop that tight is taken out by ordinary noise before the idea has failed, and it inflated R:R to a flattering 4.7:1.
Targetentry + 0.75 ATR, never projected through resistance. Measured over 5,101 pick-days: an intraday high reached 1.5 ATR on only 3.4% of them, so the previous setting was decorative. 0.75 ATR is reached 21% of the time; the median move is 0.38 ATR.
R:R is below 1
by construction
The most important thing on this page. A stop must sit at least 1 ATR away to survive ordinary noise, but a target reachable in one day cannot exceed ~0.75 ATR. So overnight reward:risk is structurally 0.75 - you are risking more than you can realistically make. At 0.75 you need a ~57% win rate to break even, and the measured up-rate on these picks is about 50%. Read the levels as “where this might plausibly get to before you sell at the close”, not as a system with positive expectancy. A one-day holding period is the binding constraint, not the levels.
R:Rreward ÷ risk, capped at 0.75. Read the caution below before using it - the ceiling is structural, not a setting.

Basis codes - how much to trust a level

S:vwap/R:52wH means support came from VWAP, resistance from the 52-week high.

bbL / bbUBollinger lower / upper band - statistical, solid
ema2020-day moving average - widely watched
vwapvolume-weighted average price - soft, and it moves during the session
52wH52-week high - strongest, everyone can see it
atrweakest - invented. No real level qualified, so a volatility projection was used. On the support side it means price is below its Bollinger band, EMA20 and VWAP: nothing underneath. The stop matters most on exactly these rows.

R:52wH appears when a stock trades above its upper Bollinger band - a breakout, where that band would otherwise give a “resistance” below the current price.

Timing

The list is a daily snapshot; intraday re-runs replace that day’s rows while earlier days stay as history. Today’s volume feeds the score and accumulates through the session, so a 10am ranking is genuinely less settled than a 3pm one - the banner above shows how far through a normal day’s volume the data currently is.

Colour coding

Eight columns are graded against the thresholds below. One shared function drives both the table and this list, so they cannot disagree. Green favourable · amber caution · red unfavourable. Anything neutral stays plain, so only decision-relevant cells carry colour.

Part%≤0.5 · 0.5-2 · >2
ATR%2.5-6 · 2-2.5 or 6-8 · >8
RSI45-65 · >72 or <35
Vol×≥2 · <0.8
R:R≥0.70 · 0.45-0.70 · <0.45 - the ceiling is 0.75, see below
MQS≥50 · <25
ConfHigh · Medium
Phasenot graded - it predicts inversely (see What to look for), and neither colour would be honest
BasisbbL + bbU · contains atr

D% / W% / M% / Y% are not graded - they keep plain up-down colour, where the sign is the meaning. A green ATR% means “a useful amount of movement”, not “the price rose”; the grading classes are deliberately separate from the ones used for gains and losses so the two are never confused.

What to look for

Part% < 0.5you are a rounding error in the day’s flow - exit whenever you want
Basis S:bbL/R:bbUboth levels are real bands rather than projections. About a third of the list.
R:R = 1.50the maximum. Means resistance is far enough away not to cap the target.
ATR% 2-6enough daily movement to clear costs, not so much the position becomes unmanageable overnight
Vol× ≥ 2today’s move has real participation behind it, not drift on thin volume
PhaseReverse your intuition here. Measured over 5,101 observations, bearish phases (Distribution / Downtrend) preceded BETTER next-day returns - this is mean reversion, and it is why the score now rewards them. The column is left uncoloured on purpose: green-for-Downtrend would be dangerous if you hold beyond one session, red would contradict the score. Only valid for a one-day hold, and only while the market keeps mean-reverting.
Score and liquidthe combination. A high score you cannot exit is not an opportunity.

Cautions

Overnight gapsYour stop cannot protect you while the market is closed. Price can open straight through it. This is the defining risk of holding overnight and no level on this screen mitigates it - only position size does.
High score, thin liquiditythe most common trap here. The ranking ignores liquidity by design, so the top row is regularly untradable - today’s number one sat at 9.1% of daily turnover. Always read Part% next to Score.
Very high ATR%ATR is symmetric. A stock that typically moves 16% a day moves 16% down just as readily, and those names are usually near the price floor where the spread is punishing too.
Basis shows atrno real support qualified - price is below its Bollinger band, EMA20 and VWAP. There is nothing underneath it.
RSI > 72you are buying after the move and paying for someone else’s gain. Scored as a penalty, not blocked.
News flagan announcement can invalidate every technical level on the row. Read it before acting, never after.
Early in the sessionvolume feeds the score and is still accumulating. Below ~90% maturity the ranking will still move.
R:R < 1.5resistance is close enough that the upside does not pay for the downside. Skip it whatever the score says - about half the list.
Costsbrokerage plus spread on a $20k round trip comes out of a median daily move of roughly $150. Costs are certain; the edge is not.

Sizing and every decision remain yours. None of this accounts for your circumstances, and none of it is financial advice.
